We are now able to provide non-surgical treatments using ultrasonic instrumentation aided by the real time video of the periodontal endoscope. This technique allows most patients with periodontal disease to return to health without surgery. The operating microscope takes you into a world of great clarity and precision. About the Speaker
Dr. Kwan graduated from USC in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science and later received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from USC in 1981. He also served in the US Air Force for 10 years as a general dentist and periodontist.
Dr. Kwan has been published in numerous peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Periodontology, The Journal of the American Dental Association and The Journal of the California Dental Association among other national and international journals and textbooks.
Dr. Kwan is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is a Clinical Professor at UCSF. He maintains a periodontal private practice in the Oakland/Berkeley area of California which includes clinical research, education and serving as an advisor to dental and technology companies. His treatment focus is on minimally invasive care for periodontal and implant patients emphasizing periodontal endoscopy and microsurgery.
Dr. Kwan is the Clinical Director for Perioscopy, a Zest Dental Solutions Company, the providers of periodontal micro-visual endoscopic instrumentation.
