We designed the Burnett Power-Tip with the help of Dr. Larry Burnett, a leading expert in soft tissue management. It's longer than traditional tips. It's thinner than traditional tips. And it has a wider "stroke." Furthermore, it features greater mass in the activated portion of the tip. All this combines to deliver 70% more power than traditional slim designs when used at the same power setting.

And there's more ...

Unlike traditional slim tips (which should never be used above the "medium" power setting) the Power-Tip can be used at flat-out maximum power.

Slide into narrow embrasures. Trim an amalgam overhang. Blast off ortho cement.

We designed the Power-Tip specifically for flinty subgingival calculus. But creative dentists and hygienists quickly showed us a wide range of applications. It's narrow enough to slide into tight interproximal spaces that have never seen a P-10. Yet it's robust enough to smooth amalgam overhangs and power-off recalcitrant globs of ortho cement. In fact, about 20% of the users tell us it's the ONLY insert they use for all their power scaling.

A note about power settings

The Burnett tip delivers more power than ordinary tips at every power setting. So we recommend that you turn scaler power way down for normal cleaning. You probably don't need that much power and you want to maximize patient comfort.

You can always crank up the power if you discover any flint-hard build-ups.
