LockFree VPS is a ground-breaking block-out material that is the first-ever to release from undercuts and loose teeth, yet still deliver highly accurate final impressions. A light-bodied, low-durometer vinyl polysiloxane material, LockFree VPS can be dispensed directly onto undercuts or under bars and pontics. Once the material has been allowed to fully set, a traditional VPS material is applied around the rest of the area, cured and then removed.
LockFree VPS actually flexes or conveniently tears past undercuts and splits around bars to allow easy removal of the entire impression. When the impression is completely removed, LockFree VPS will return to its original shape to provide precise detail of the areas to which it was applied; details otherwise impossible to achieve with traditional block-out material.
LockFree VPS features a 35-second working time and 90-second intraoral set time. It blends with traditional VPS impression material with no demarcation so that upon removal of the entire impression, both materials come out together. LockFree VPS handles beautifully and is applicable to a vast array of everyday impression-making situations:
- Blocks out dental undercuts and large interdental embrasures to minimize the chance of “lock-on” and subsequent tearing or distortion of the impression material during removal.
- Minimizes the possibility of unintended extraction of periodontally-compromised teeth during impression removal.
- Gets into the spaces under prosthetic bars or bridge pontics to prevent “lock-on” or possible prosthesis dislodgement during impression removal.
